Microwave the wrap on a clean plate, flip after a minute, and then one more minute. The wrap is heavy. It can take longer to heat up. The wrap is also moist and takes time to heat up initially. This will all improve after repeated use.
Drape it over the neck, shoulder, tummy, back, arm, leg, or anywhere that needs attention. Use directly against the skin for better heat benefit.

Perfect for back or shoulder pain

I suffer lower back pain and periodic pain in my right rotator cup. I have a few cold devices and heating devices but after I received the SunnyBay Store Reusable Pure Enrichment Heating Pad it's become my go to heating pad. The pad is 10 inches by 24 inches and covers a rather large area. Simply put it in the microwave and turn it on. The temperature will be dependent on how long you leave it in. I usually do 45 seconds to a minute. Of course you don't want to overdo it with the time. I either lay on my stomach and put it across my lower back or I lay on top or it. For my shoulder I drape it right over it and lay back. If you have neck pain you can wrap it like a shawl around your neck. The pad retains heat for around 20 minutes then begins to cool down. I'll throw it in the microwave for another 30 seconds to keep treating my pain. Although I use it for heat you can also put it in the freezer and use it as a cold compress. I use the pad every single day since receiving it.

This heating pad is so cozy. The material is Avery soft almost blanket like material. It is easy to use and very diverse. You can use it for your neck, back, stomach (during the time of the month), feet, etc. The weight and the heat makes it super comfortable and relaxes your muscles. Good for readers!

I'm an avid reader but often I get uncomfortable reading on my back so I lay on my side or prop up on my stomach. This works well until I go to move and have a crick in my neck from holding my head at an odd angle! For initial heating, microwave for 1–2 minutes, depending on your microwave wattage and the weight of your product:

• 2.5 lb heat wrap: 1 minute 40 seconds (maximum 2 minutes)

• 4 lb heat wrap: 2 minutes 30 seconds (maximum 3 minutes)

We use fresh seeds, and the natural moisture inside may cause the product to take longer to heat during first use.

Always check the temperature before use and adjust heating time as needed.

The wrap stays warm for approximately 20–30 minutes. To help retain the heat longer, we recommend covering the wrap with a blanket or towel during use.

After about 20–30 minutes, it’s normal for the heat wrap to feel cooler on the surface. However, the inside remains warmer than room temperature, which means it requires less time to warm up again and continues to provide comforting heat.

Heat therapy works well. Due to the nature of the natural seeds, they don't get very cold compared to the chemical pads. We improved the design by using thinner cotton in some models. It should help the heat and cold to permeate.

I love this heating pad! I use it around my neck to relax my muscles as well as wrap around my knees and ankles. I love that I can put it in the microwave as well as freeze it. It does cool quickly and the heat doesn't seem to stay in as long as I would like, but it does the job.

Amazing quality on the bag it's a bean bag but very tightly compact bean bag it has some weight to it which is great for applying pressure is you have cramps .. I just popped it in the microwave for 30 seconds then flipped it 30 more seconds it gets realy warm and evenly ..heat will vary depending on how long you heat it up for its very soft and feel so cozy when you put it on..like a warm hug. I love it the heat keeps for a while works well when I have cramps or a headache

My legs get really sore after playing pickleball and so I usually like to put my foot in Ice and then use this pad afterwards on it. This pad really does make the remedy process a lot more easier than before. Before I would use to use a towel and put it under hot water. However this pad is more convenient and requires no work at all in getting the pad warm. I really would recommend this.

Great Heating Pad

This is a great heating pad. The size is about 10 inches by 24 inches. It covers my wife from shoulder to shoulder, and about 3/4 of her spine when she lays on it. In the product description it is listed as a "neck wrap" so it is a bit smaller than the "XL" description (which is also in the product info) implies. However, I looked up the size information before ordering so that did not surprise me when it arrived.The pad is filled with rice, flax seeds, and dried Lavender buds. It has a 100% polyester cover, and a 100% cotton casing. It is very well made and super soft. The rice and flax seed are sewn into separate compartments so that they do not all slide to one side or the other and keeps the padding and heat consistently in the same place as you move around.The Lavender scent maybe a little jarring for some people. We have Lavender growing in our back yard and I compared the smell of the pad to the plant. The Lavender buds in the heating pad are most likely not processed. They have a more earthy smell like the plant itself, or culinary Lavender for cooking. It is definitely not the over processed and sweetened Lavender you will find in perfumes and soaps, so it might take some getting used to. It is not overpowering and we have not experienced the transfer of smells to our clothes or microwave like mentioned in some other reviews.The pad seems to have some kind of self moisturizing effect. When we heat it up it feels moist, but no water has been added and it dries as it cools. This is a really cool feature as the moisture helps with the soothing effects. I have set a stopwatch several times to test how long the pad stays hot, and the results have been very consistent. For us it lasts about 18 minutes and 30 seconds before cooling to about half of its original heated temperature. It stays warm for about 10 minutes after that, but not really at a high enough temperature to be therapeutic, but just soothing. We have not frozen it yet, but the instructions say that it can be frozen for 60 minutes and used as a cold compress as well.Our overall opinion of the SunnyBay Lavender Bean Bag Heating Pad is positive. My wife uses the pad mostly on her neck and shoulders, but also lays on it with the pad aligned with her spine and it works great for her, easing tension and discomfort in her back.
