5 Different Ways To Relax...

I'm Vince from SunnyBay (Marketing Dept.) and she wanted me to share my own personal ways of relaxing that could be helpful for those reading.

(*With no bias towards our products, of course)

Just personal, honest ways of relaxing from a real person working for the company.

And given that we’re a company that promotes relief and relaxation products,

It’s only fitting I share with you my own 5 different ways I relax that I’ve found to be helpful for me over the years.

Here it is (in no particular order):

1. Magnesium Oil

Something that I’ve found to help me relax better and get ready for sleep (and ultimately sleep better) is when I apply Magnesium Oil to my body.

I’d apply it to my stomach, my arms, my chest and legs.

I definitely feel the effects immediately when I apply the oil. My body just naturally eases up and feels less tense.

And I do feel it in the morning in the way of feeling refreshed and more awake than if I didn’t apply it.

They say Magnesium plays a role in over 300 biochemical reactions in the body so I can see why it’s so essential...especially for relaxation and rest.

But how do I make or buy?

I simply buy a pack of magnesium flakes (Amazon), pour 1 cup into a boiling pan with 1 cup of water and boil until the flakes dissolve.

I then put the liquid into a glass spray bottle.

Just a word of caution: it can give a slight burning sensation and can leave a residue when applied.

2. Drinking Tea with Deep Breaths

Sipping tea has this wonderful effect on me. I naturally feel more relaxed and at ease.

Unlike coffee where you feel more adrenaline to do things, tea seems to tone me down and relaxes me like no other.

Although tea is known to have small bits of caffeine, I have no trouble drinking it before bedtime.

I actually am able to fall asleep better and my body is receptive to it. Unlike that one night where I drank coffee…bad idea.

I was up all night and was wondering when my body would go to sleep. Don’t ever drink coffee at night.

When I sip my tea, I like to take deep breaths and think about my life and what I want to accomplish and what I did during the day.

It's a great tool for contemplation and meditation in that way.

I can see why many people discover thoughts of insight when drinking tea.

It calms your nervous system in some way that allows for your body and mind to relax and ease up so natural thoughts can sprout and release instead of linger.

My favorite teas are Oolong tea and Green Tea.

3. Grounding In Nature

One thing I love to do when I’m in a park or out in nature is to walk barefoot on one of Earth’s surfaces.

It could be dirt, grass or sand. It feels so refreshing to do so.

They say the earth’s surfaces carry a negative charge and when you come into contact with your feet, it transfers those negative charges to you.

Why is that important?

It’s because sometimes when our bodies are tense and inflamed, it carries a positive charge in our body.

By walking barefoot, we’re able to reduce or neutralize the positive charge in our body which allows us to feel more relaxed and at ease.

And I do feel the effects immediately thereafter once I walk for about 15-20 minutes but you can do it for longer.

Be Mindful: Try not to walk on asphalt since it’s made of synthetic materials that don’t conduct Earth’s negative charge.

4. Neck Massager

There’s this wonderful neck massager they sell on Amazon.

It's around $30-$40 and It looks like a long rectangular shape (like a towel) that wraps around your neck.

It comes with a main massage portion in the middle and two openings at the ends to put your arms through.

Once I turn it on, the way it feels on my upper traps and neck is incredible. It's instant relief. It's like heaven on earth.

The way the massager goes deep into my muscles of my neck and shoulders.

It uses massage ball that rotate in circles...clockwise and counter-clockwise.

The tension that's being release is incredible. Like where have you been all my life?

I can’t refer any for obvious reason but there’s so many options on Amazon, you can’t go wrong.

It's definitely worth the investment and what's awesome is that you can use your phone as your hands are strapped around it's arms.

Binaural Beats / Alpha Waves - I listen to this type of audio whenever I’m working and it definitely relaxes me.

What is it you may ask?

It's a specific type of audio that functions at a specific frequency that resonates with certain brainwave patterns in your brain.

For simplicity sake, your brain operates at certain brainwaves tied to a specific frequency and it's suppose to have a specific effect like for example...creativity or memory or learning.

It’s able to stimulate me enough to maintain a good working “flow” as they say.

They say your brain operates in certain wavelengths.

When we’re awake in everyday life, we operate at 12-30 Hz whereas when I’m listing to binaural beats or alpha waves, my brain could operate at 8-12 Hz which is suitable for relaxation, calm focus and a better creative flow.

I do notice a difference when I listen to this vs. when I’m not.

When I do listen, I feel like my work flows better but when I don’t, sometimes my own thoughts get in the way or small sound disturbances can throw my focus off.

BONUS: Organizing - Decluttering

There are moments in my life where papers just pile up on my desk for no apparent reason.

One paper seems harmless but over days they stack up to make this horrendous swap on your table.

When I do sort them out (it takes awhile) and my table is clear, my mind is clear and I'm more relaxed.

It’s weird. It’s unusual how that works.

And it works the same when cleaning and organizing my car.

They say a cluttered desk is a cluttered mind and I think I find some truth in that.
